Who’s actually posting here—human or machine?

LinkedIn for Humans!

How have you been feeling about LinkedIn lately? Do you also get the sense that it’s increasingly becoming a platform for artificial intelligence?

Every day, I read AI-generated posts that feel very technical and cold. Often written in bullet points, they explain things like the ten commandments of a good speech, what to consider in a job interview, or—very innovatively—present the seven principles of good leadership in a carousel format.

This trend hasn’t stopped at the comments section either. More and more often—even on my own posts—I read AI-generated responses. Please don’t get me wrong, I appreciate every comment and try to respond to as many as possible. But when I realize that I’m replying to a machine rather than a human, it leaves me with a strange feeling.

I don’t want to reject this technology—and I use it myself for brainstorming, inspiration, research, or fact-checking.

I don’t want to reject this technology—and I use it myself for brainstorming, inspiration, research, or fact-checking. But I believe AI should enhance our own ideas, experiences, and perspectives—not become the central component of our posts. Too often, it’s the other way around: ChatGPT generates the post, and the person posting merely adds a few words or lines here and there.

I always thought LinkedIn was a professional network of people—for people—helping us build connections, develop careers, and exchange our (non-machine) knowledge.

I’m still a fan and grateful for the opportunities and access we have here. But I would find it a shame if things continue in this direction—if the subtle irony, the linguistic nuances, the liberating humor, and the genuine empathy that (so far) only we humans can authentically express become less and less part of our exchanges on this platform.

Otherwise, I’m sure there will one day be a “LinkedIn for Humans only.” Because I believe there are many users like me who long for less AI and more humanity on this platform.
